This year, a new festival area offered more space for the visitors. In the 7th year, the KALTENBACH OPEN AIR took place in another part of Spital called Grautschenhof. Unfortunately the charm of former years is not the same, but the better sight because of the topography evens this negative aspect. Musically, Black Metal dominates the schedule, but also a few Black Metal bands loosen up the billing. In general, the one or other Thrash group (or Doom?) would have contributed additional alternation. Some things about the organization showed up in negative way, but Julia and I had a lot of fun at the festival, despite of heavy rain…

PLUS: - sound ( except Amon Amarth) - big festival area - signing sessions - no waiting at the entrance - good sight to the stage - shopping possibility nearby - friendly security

MINUS: - a long march from parking to festival area - precious little precautions concerning the rain - precious little toilets - canned beer - food and its quality - precious little trash bags on the area - fans deface the landscape & the wood with trash (refund system!!!) - missing illumination on paths and campground
